Become a Registered Horticultural Therapist

If you've reached this page you probably already know what horticultural therapy is.  If not, click here.

The America Horticultural Therapy Association is the body that reviews credentials and lists individuals as Registered Horticultural Therapists.  The requirements are listed on their web pages at http://www.ahta.org/professional_advancement/.

There are four basic areas that need to be met for registration: psychology courses, horticultur courses, horticultural therapy courses, and an internship.  For many of us, we need to pick up courses in one or more areas.  Most of us are busy working during the day and find taking classes at local colleges to be challenging.  While attending a horticultural therapy class several of us decided to start a wiki that would save others from all the hunting for on-line or distance programs.  We're hoping that others will join in with their ideas and experiences so that everyone can find a program that will meet their needs.

If you look at the sidebar to the right, you'll see a page for each of the four areas listed above.  If you would like to become a write for this wiki, please click on the link and you will be granted writer status.  A wiki only works if others contribute, so please feel free to add your own experiences!
